What is Hand Dermatitis?

Hand rashes are extremely common. Many people start with dry, chapped hands that later become patchy red, scaly and inflamed.

The number of items that can irritate the skin is limitless. Once the skin becomes red and dry, relatively safe contact with skin products or even water can irritate the rash, making it worse. Most hand rashes start from a combination of unusually sensitive skin and irritation or allergic reaction from materials that touch the hands. This includes soaps, detergents, solvents, foods, and of course, numerous materials at work, such as greases, oils, chemicals, glues, paper, etc.
